Your Castle Awaits You...

Derek Stephen Prince, commonly known as Steve Prince, is a native California “mutt” as he likes to call himself. Born in Inglewood, he has lived in Downtown Los Angeles, Big Bear, Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles, Sierra Madre, Northridge, North Hollywood, Burbank, Canyon Country, and Claremont where he currently resides with his wife, Amy, and three children – Jacob, Tyler and Livia. If there’s one person who knows Southern California, it’s Steve. He has been in the real estate industry for over 18 years. When he first started out (at the bottom rung of the ladder) he helped head up the credit reporting division of a local real estate company in Claremont. For two years, he learned the ins and outs of what credit bureaus looked for in grading a consumer for loans, and what he had to do to help a buyer qualify.

He then moved into a national lending team, helping buyers all over the US get qualified for purchases and refinances for three years after he finished with the credit reporting. He then obtained his Salesman license in Real Estate and began helping friends, relatives and family get the best deal for their house if selling, or helping them find a house that matched (as closely as possible, depending on market availability) what they were looking for.

He took a brief stint away from the business from 2009-2012, because if he was going to stand squarely on the shoulders of his philosophy “A client should live IN their house, not for their house”, then he should be able to back that up with proper education. So he spent that time obtaining his life insurance license (which he currently holds) and focused on financial planning.

He joined Triple Diamond Realty in San Dimas in 2012 and is happy to move his business to Keller Williams Covina. He still values the foundation of real estate that got him started in 1996 when he learned about credit reporting, and is now closely working with Nabil Captan, the foremost expert on current credit building and reporting. Nabil is the only individual that has been given carte blanche from the president of FICO to educate people on how the credit system works, and Steve embraces that education as well.

In addition to real estate, Steve is heavily involved in Boy Scouts of America with his two sons. He is Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 402 in Claremont, and Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 601 in Upland. He is also the adult leader for the “Honor Society of Boy Scouts”, Order of the Arrow, which has monthly meetings out of Troop 301’s Scout House in Ontario.

Steve is motivated - driven even - when it comes to getting clients what they want, and it is that force that has allowed him to obtain the business he has and earn the respect of his clients. If a referral is in another state, he acts as a go-between in getting that client an expert in the city they need help, eliminating the stress that may come with a buyer or seller not knowing an agent, trying to find one, and ensuring they receive the best service as though he were helping that client directly. Steve is constantly receiving training and education to stay on top of his game. He is currently in the process of becoming a Certified International Property Specialist. Steve looks forward to assisting you (or your friends or family, no matter what city/state/country they are in) with your goals, and helping you achieve them .
